As it was already mentioned Nanaimo is the city where largest companies at least have their representatives. The Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce has served their clients since 1889! Really this is not easy to imagine but since the 19th century the Chamber of Commerce has helped companies and enterpreneurs to promote their services. The ogranization is definitely a non-profit one and doesn’t get any governmental support. The primary goal of the Chamber is to promote commercial, industrical and civic interests of Nanaimo. The stuff of Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce comprises 800 members.

The work of this organization comprises support of the startups directed at the Nanaimo business promotion, the Chamber of Commerce organizes business expos and promotes its own initiatives like advocacy, highway signage and leadership bc. Every year Chamber of Commerce in Nanaimo organizes a fundraising event that is called Sterling Awards. This is a special praise for companies who have proved their excellence on business and customer service provided in Nanaimo. The ceremony Sterling Awards helps to raise money for new projects and initiatives of the Chamber of Commerce.
